Special Kids Therapy (SKT) helps special health needs children with necessities and fun therapies that are not met by insurance, other charities, and/or government agencies.SKT clients include children with moderate to sever physical, mental and/or emotional challenges.
SKT provides funding assistance to Ohio children with special health needs. Funding assistance is considered for alternative
therapies not covered by public or private insurance. For example; animal, art, dance, hyperbaric oxygen, language, listening,
massage, music, reflexology, and water therapies. SKT considers applications that meet the required criteria for
any proven therapy that is not covered by public or private insurance.
SKT will assist families with the purchase of special medical equipment. Such as, electrical wheelchairs and other mobility aides, communication devices and auditory equipment that is needed forĀ inclusion in daily living but not covered by insurance.
SKT will consider all needs otherwise not met by other charities or insurance for children with special health care needs.
SKT sponsors summer day camp activities. Typically, a camp session is 3 days per week for 3 weeks. (At this time the camp services Hancock
County kids only)
SKT sponsors a day for family activities, therapies and unity each year at Camp Berry Boy Scout Camp outside of Findlay, Ohio. Presently the day can only provide for 30 families and applications are accepted as received. Children from northwestern and central Ohio attend the event.
SKT does not staff licensed therapists or other professionals. SKT volunteers do not provide one-on-one or group therapy.
